XACTA's owners enjoy fine wines. As part of sharing that enjoyment a Proprietors Selection red and white is kept for special occasions and for use as gifts to XACTA staff and clients. The wines change as availability and taste dictates but we have received such great service and product from Alywn Corban, Peter Moss and the rest of the team at Ngatarawa Wines that we haven't strayed from this vineyard for some years now.

Ngatarawa Chardonnay 2001

Blended for the United States market, this Chardonnay is softer than the usual fare from Alwyn and the team. We find a very easy drinking chardonnay and it also has a wider appeal and is enjoyed by those who would not normally go for a Hawkes Bay Chardonnay (odd as that seems to me!).

Ngatarawa Cabernet Merlot 1996

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (65%) and Cabernet Merlot (35%), this wine has a warm soft rounded palate. It has delicious ripe berry fruit and currant flavours which have been enhanced by oak maturation. We were lucky enough to get hold of a few cases after the Ngatwarwa team discovered this wine in the cellar. If you're lucky enought to be given a bottle of this, enjoy. It's wonderful.
